Why did Verse 15 not hit me before?

Proverbs 31:15 KJV

[15] She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

I guess because the word “maidens” is an old-fashioned but she had servants!! Staff. A Team around her to help her do all she was able to do. She didn’t do ALL of that on her own. She was a Boss Lady.

Like Shonda Rhimes said, in her book The Year of Yes… she has help!

I can now read that chapter with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE!!

Who can find a virtuous woman, someone who has all these qualities. She a rare!

• Her net worth is far more then rubies, diamond and pearls
• She’s got her husbands heart and body and full attention!! He’s not playing the field. She’s got his heart ❤️🖤💗💙
• She loves him deeply and doesn’t think bad of him. She doesn’t belittle him, she respects him and does him good in her thoughts and actions.
• She has an eye for fabric, design, trends, understands the markets, buying and selling.
• She imports her food, it’s quality, the best.
• She’s up early gourmet cooking for her family and staff. Planning the day ahead.
• She’s an entrepreneur.
• She thinking about various properties and buys them. How? She’s wealthy!
• She Lifts! She works out 💪 Strengthens her arms.
• She believes in her own products and works late with her hands.
• She a philanthropist.
• Her family wear the cutest clothes in the summer and the sickest (as in really nice) clothes in the winter.
• She has impeccable style and dresses in the finest clothing.
• Her Husband is well know and has a respectable position in society and older men respect him.
• She makes Clothing and sells it.
• She’s all about Strength and Honour it’s all over her! Good things are coming her way.
• She speaks with incredible wisdom and experience.
• She’s never idle. Always putting her hand to something. Never still.
• She has excelled the women around her.
• Her husband and children love her and speak good of her in and out of her presence.
• She worships God.
• Her work speaks for her! She can make a statement without saying a word!

Most Women are the “daughters” in this text who have done incredibly well and tick some or even most of these boxes but The Virtuous Woman stands out, because she has excelled the daughters!

There are many daughters but few Virtuous Women – THEY’RE HARD TO FIND! The Bible even asks who can find a woman like THIS? It’s not asking the question of men, husbands, potential suitors. It’s a question to anyone. Have you met, know of or found a woman with ALL these virtues?

Think of someone, go through the list;

• tick, tick, tick, oh doesn’t fear God nope!
• Oh doesn’t help the poor nope.
• Oh she’s flawless but the kids look a hot mess nope.
• Oh tick all the boxes but her children hate her and her husband is sleeping around!

Some people say this is unattainable. I say it’s a model. Also remember, she had staff/help. There are elements from her example we can all take on and try to live out from marriage, to exercise, housekeeping and worship.

For me personally this is #Goals
